Founded in 1995, Sound Capital Management, Inc. is an independent advisory firm dedicated to tax-exempt and taxable issuers. The firm's primary role and responsibility is to guide the issuer in making sound decisions regarding its financial plans and strategies. SCM's transaction volume has grown dramatically since inception, a testament to our credibility and service levels.
The historically low interest rates experienced over the past several years has highlighted the importance of viewing the balance sheet as a whole versus two independent components comprised of assets and liabilities. SCM is the premier firm specializing both in the cost of debt, and the return on investment assets.
SCM works closely with each issuer to gain a complete understanding of the issuer's requirements and then guides the issuer in following a capital market strategy based on its particular debt and investment policies. SCM routinely handles both relatively simple and the most technically complex debt and derivative structures seen in the market today. SCM is a current member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA), which is the global trade association representing more than 600 leading participants in the privately negotiated derivatives industry. ISDA encourages the development of the industry by promoting standard documentation, sound risk management practices, and high standards of professional conduct. ISDA also educates members on the legislative, regulatory, and operational issues affecting the negotiated derivatives business.
